Cows being cows
Me, myself, and i
Where to begin…
Let’s start with my first memory of wanting to pick up the camera and try to shoot the shot I could see in my head. I was around ten or so years old. As a small town kid I played outside almost all the time. Wandering the streets on my bicycle, or running around the woods being a silly young man. I remember the day vividly. My friend and I were in the woods about a mile from our house as the sun was setting and a light snow was moving in. The look of the warm sun streaking through the trees as the snow softly settled on the world around me just struck something within. All I could think of is, “ I want to be able to see this any time I want!” So I ran home to attempt to convince my mother to hand over the family camera. You know the one, from the 80’s, with film and a winder. In the world of cameras it was laughable. But in that moment, it was all I knew. Unfortunately, we didn’t have much money when I was growing up, so we didn’t waste film on stuff. Needless to say, I didn’t get the shot.
Fast forward many years later to current days. I am now married to an amazing woman who has an interest in photography, and has started her own business. As you could probably guess, she found out my secret fondness for photography. She pushed me to pursue what I had long sense given up on. She gave me one of her old cameras to get me started with and see if I had “it” and if this truly was something I would pursue. Well given the fact that you are visiting my website and reading my words, it is safe to say that the pursuit is on.
So what do I do now? What is next? From here I move forward shooting and challenging myself to get better. I learn everything possible from either people with the experience or by my own trial and errors. Hopefully you will join me in this experience and enjoy my work as art or hire me for a specific shoot you would like me to be a part of. Here is to a future filled with WONDER!
